Regional Manager Planned Outsourcing & Compliance - Te Waipounamu

Lead the coordination and optimisation of planned care surgical activity across the region, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and effectively.

Build strong partnerships with hospitals, private providers and internal teams to improve patient access, quality and cost-effectiveness.

Provide operational and commercial oversight across outsourcing arrangements, including vendor relationships, contracts, performance and compliance.

About the Role

The primary purpose of this role is to oversee and optimise the insourcing and outsourcing of planned care surgical activity across the region. You will provide operational coordination, support vendor negotiations and contract management, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, quality standards and agreed service requirements.

The Regional Manager will work closely with the Te Waipounamu senior leadership team, Regional Manager Planned Care, hospital leadership teams, national delivery and procurement teams, external private hospital providers and internal teams to improve patient access, operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness across planned care surgical services.

You will also serve as the primary liaison between hospitals, private hospital providers and other healthcare providers, building effective partnerships and ensuring planned care outsourcing is coordinated, well governed and delivered to agreed standards.

You are an experienced professional with strong project, change and operational management skills, using data, analytics and information to identify opportunities, manage competing priorities and deliver meaningful results. You build strong relationships and influence others effectively, working collaboratively to achieve shared outcomes across complex service environments.

You communicate clearly and confidently with a wide range of audiences, adapting your approach whether presenting information, providing advice, supporting negotiations or navigating challenging conversations. You bring strong critical thinking and risk management skills, with the ability to assess issues, make sound decisions and operate effectively in a complex and demanding environment.

You are highly organised and adaptable, with strong planning and time management skills. You can manage multiple priorities, reprioritise when circumstances change and respond calmly and professionally to emerging issues, while maintaining focus on delivering quality outcomes.
