We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager based in Auckland, New Zealand and supporting the Construction business across New Zealand.

In this role, you will work closely with Project Managers to support the successful delivery of construction projects. The main objective would be to assist PMs in improving their focus on delivery, schedule, and risk management as well as ensuring project close out delays are reduced.

  • Permanent/Full-time role and based in Auckland, New Zealand
  • Reports to the Delivery Operations Lead

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Administering Boost and Avetta applications to ensure contractor and site compliance requirements are met
  • Preparing, issuing, and managing contracts, quotations, purchase requisitions (PRs), and purchase orders (POs)
  • Monitoring open and aged POs within the JDE system and proactively following up to ensure timely closure
  • Processing non-PO invoices and coordinating shipping and logistics tracking
  • Conducting weekly reviews of storage costs and freight invoices, acting as a procurement gatekeeper and escalating potential cost overruns
  • Verifying timesheets, including overtime, allowances, and cost coding, prior to Project Manager approval
  • Ensuring all quality documentation is completed and final defects are closed out to enable NIS
  • Coordinating effectively with Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, and Service teams to support cross-functional project delivery

What you will need to be successful:

  • A tertiary qualification in Building or Engineering and/or an Electrical or Mechanical Trade Certificate is preferred.
  • Those with a Business or Commerce degree will be preferred.
  • Have a min 2-3 years of experience in project management of Lift and Escalator installations would be an added advantage.
  • Able to engage frequently and effectively with various stakeholders within Sales, New Equipment, Contract Management, Builders, Consultants, and other project stakeholders.
  • Excellent English communication skills - written and verbal
  • Effective planning and organizational skills.
  • Be a self-starter who can work safely and efficiently in a dynamic environment.
  • Able to work autonomously and in a team with minimal supervision.
