Servicing the Bay of Plenty, our Edgecumbe site has been manufacturing dairy products since 1923. The site produces pastry sheet butter, prepared edible fats, anhydrous milk fat, casein & caseinates, whey protein concentrate, milk minerals and probiotics. Edgecumbe is the only site in NZ that produces calcium Caseinate.
As a Transport Team Manager, you'll be joining Fonterra's largest milk collection depot in the country, where you'll be directly responsible for leading, motivating and inspiring a skilled team of 75 drivers, ensuring milk collection is completed to world class standard, meeting key business requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading, coaching and supporting a large team of 75+ Tanker Operators, vehicles and assets to ensure milk collection and delivery is completed safely, efficiently and on time
- Liaising with planning and dispatch and fleet workshop teams to ensure staff and fleet availability align to meet the demands of the business
- Manage the team to meet the performance and behavioural standards required of a professional transport operation.
- Liaising with key departments and stakeholders across the site and business regarding product movements
- Monthly reporting and reviewing of planned verses actual schedules, monitoring variances and undertaking root cause analysis
- Being an active champion for best practice, quality assurance, compliance and operational best practice.

This is a permanent full-time position. Rostered shift pattern 4x4.

You will be an inspirational and dynamic leader with demonstrated experience leading large teams affecting cultural change, with a passion to be a part of the Fonterra whanau and lead our transport operations to new heights.
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Proven experience directly leading a large, diverse team preferably within the transport or logistics industries
- Strong leadership and team management skills with demonstrated success leading and implementing cultural change within teams
- Ability to engage and communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences and stakeholders
- Experience delivering results in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
