People Experience (HR) Business Partner

We're looking for an experienced People Experience (HR) Business Partner to join Trimble in Christchurch!

You'll be supporting a global employee population across people strategy, workforce planning, talent and organizational change, while playing a key role in the culture and employee experience of our third-largest global R&D site.

In this role, you will be at the heart of our third-largest global R&D site, fostering a high-performing culture that bridges cutting-edge hardware innovation with high-growth software portfolios. You will partner directly with business leaders to shape proactive people strategies, build leadership capability, and cultivate an engaging environment that drives both meaningful career growth and commercial success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Field Systems business leaders to diagnose organizational needs, deliver proactive people strategies, and lead impactful change management.
  • Cultivate a strong site culture and employee engagement by maintaining an influential, accessible, and supportive on-site presence for our Christchurch hub.
  • Guide managers on talent development, succession frameworks, and strategic workforce planning to support evolving hardware and software talent pipelines.
  • Lead high-impact people initiatives that enhance employee experience, evolve internal culture, and drive commercial outcomes.
  • Collaborate with PX Centers of Excellence to advise on complex employment relations using coaching and supportive problem-solving techniques.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive HR/PX Business Partner experience, with relevant background in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in strategic workforce planning, talent optimization, or organizational design within a technology environment.
  • Strong knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation and local workplace practices.
  • Exceptional ability to influence leaders, take initiative, and navigate a fast-paced matrix organization.

Bonus Points For

  • Knowledge of Australian employment legislation and workplace compliance requirements.
  • Experience working within technology environments that build both physical products (hardware) and digital solutions (software).
  • Familiarity with United States labor laws and global matrix environments.
