Medical Laboratory Technician Pre Analytical for APS Cytology

APS is an IANZ accredited facility providing specialist diagnostic histology and cytology services to Auckland and beyond. APS processes specimens referred by more than 4,000 private specialists, surgical hospitals, and general practitioners across Auckland. To support this breadth of work, our Consultant Pathologists collaborate closely with our experienced team of scientists and technicians to deliver high-quality, timely results for patients and clinicians.
About the role:
We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician Pre-Analytical to join our Cytology Prep Room team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality services for APS patients and referrers. The primary purpose of the role is to register and prepare cytology samples for processing and evaluation, as part of a collaborative team, contributing to the delivery of a high-quality diagnostic laboratory service.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be registered with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand (MSCNZ) as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or deemed registerable by the MSCNZ at the time of appointment, as required for scope of practice.
- Have recent practical experience in Histology.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
