About the Role

This is an important role responsible for delivering critical regulatory data outcomes under the data programme, with a focus on building, testing, validating, and supporting new RBNZ Loan Level Data submissions and affordability-related survey models.

This is a full time, 2 year fixed term opportunity based in Auckland. This is a hybrid role with three days in the office and two days where you can work flexibly.

Day-to-Day Tasks

The person in this role will complete:

  • Analysis and delivery of new regulatory data models, including Loan Level Data and affordability-related survey requirements for RBNZ.
  • Translation of complex regulatory, business, and technical requirements into clear data requirements, mappings, and delivery outcomes.
  • Analysis of changing source systems and downstream impacts as part of technology modernisation.
  • Data mapping, lineage, reconciliation, testing, and validation against existing reports and monthly submission requirements.
  • Working across business, technology, and data teams to identify dependencies, resolve issues, and support timely regulatory delivery.
  • Facilitating daily stand-ups and managing Jira epics, stories, and tasks to ensure team alignment, transparency, and effective delivery coordination.

Exciting Aspects of the Opportunity

This is an opportunity to work on a high-impact regulatory data initiative with broad visibility across data, technology, and business teams. You'll help build new data models that support critical RBNZ submissions, while shaping how complex lending and affordability data is understood, validated, and delivered with confidence.

Challenging Aspects of the Opportunity

The most challenging part of this role will be managing the complexity of evolving source systems, regulatory requirements, and existing reporting logic within a tight delivery timeframe.

Attributes for Success

You can turn complex regulatory reporting and data modelling problems into clear, actionable analysis that delivery teams can execute against. You communicate complex concepts in plain English, enabling stakeholders to understand impacts, make informed decisions, and align on delivery outcomes. You will have helped define accurate requirements and mappings, surfaced risks early, supported testing and reconciliation, and built confidence that the new data models are complete, reliable, and fit for regulatory submission.

Success Indicators

You'll be confident working independently to navigate complex data challenges, clarify requirements, and deliver high-quality regulatory submissions within tight timeframes. Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, the ability to identify and resolve issues early, and effective collaboration across teams to ensure solutions are tested, reconciled, and ready for submission. You'll also be recognised for consistently demonstrating our Mātāpono | How We Work.
