The Opportunity

The Procurement Lead is responsible for leading the end-to-end procurement and subcontractor engagement process across infrastructure projects, ensuring the timely and commercial procurement of goods, services, and subcontract works. The role oversees strategic sourcing, market engagement, supplier and subcontractor prequalification, tender management, and contract award activities, while driving value, risk mitigation, and supply chain performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute procurement strategies across multiple categories.
  • Manage the full procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, tendering, evaluation, negotiations, contracting, and supplier onboarding.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support business continuity and long-term value.
  • Collaborate with operational, technical, and commercial teams to forecast demand and understand procurement requirements.
  • Ensure procurement activities align with governance frameworks, risk controls, and compliance obligations.
  • Monitor supplier performance through regular reviews and reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, tools, and reporting.
  • Provide commercial insights to support budgeting and cost forecasting.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain.
  • Strong negotiation skills and contract management experience.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into procurement strategy.
  • Understanding of procurement governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to enhance processes and workflows.

The project will initially be based in Auckland and then move to an office between Warkworth and Wellsford.
