Business Development Manager
An exciting opportunity has become available for a motivated and commercially minded Business Development Manager to join our New Zealand sales team. Reporting to the Country Sales Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, growing existing customer relationships, and contributing to the continued success of Toll Global Forwarding. This role is ideal for an emerging sales professional looking to build a rewarding career in logistics and freight forwarding while making a meaningful impact on customer growth and business performance.
This position can be based in either Wellington or Napier.
A day in the life of a Business Development Manager at Toll Group
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across targeted industries and territories.
- Grow existing customer accounts through cross-selling and solution-based selling.
- Build strong customer relationships and develop a deep understanding of customer supply chain needs.
- Contribute to RFQs, customer proposals and bid response activities.
- Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline and customer information in CRM systems.
- Work collaboratively with operational and product teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 1–2 years' experience in sales, logistics or customer service.
- Freight forwarding or logistics industry exposure will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to build customer relationships and identify growth opportunities.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to learn CRM platforms and sales methodologies.
