About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a senior leadership role within PwC New Zealand's Private team in Hamilton, where you will lead a diverse portfolio of clients and help shape the future growth of the practice. Working with a broad range of privately owned businesses and stakeholders, you will bring together technical excellence, commercial thinking and trusted advice to make a real impact for clients and the wider team.

Your day-to-day could include:

  • Lead a high-quality portfolio spanning accounting, tax compliance and advisory services, delivering practical and commercially sound outcomes
  • Become a trusted adviser to senior clients, supporting them across business, finance, accounting and tax matters
  • Drive complex and varied work across statutory reporting, tax compliance, budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and business improvement initiatives
  • Play a key role in growing the practice by strengthening client relationships, identifying opportunities and contributing to commercial success
  • Mentor and develop talented team members while helping foster a collaborative, high-performing and forward-looking team culture

Skills you will bring or develop in this role

  • Strong experience in accounting, tax and advisory services, ideally gained in a professional services environment or a similarly complex commercial setting
  • Strong technical capability across financial statements, income tax and indirect tax compliance, with the ability to deliver high-quality, practical advice
  • Proven experience leading client engagements and building trusted senior relationships, with a strong understanding of business, finance and commercial decision-making
  • Demonstrated people leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring and developing team members across multiple engagements
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a proactive approach to innovation, technology and new ways of working
