Lead and execute the New Zealand Food business strategy to drive growth and profitability

The Role

We're seeking an experienced and commercially minded Country Manager to lead our Food business across New Zealand. Reporting to the General Manager ANZ – Food & Pharmaceutical, you'll have full responsibility for the strategic direction, operational performance, commercial success, and people leadership of the New Zealand business.

Leading a high-performing team across laboratory operations, technical services, commercial, business development, and client services, you'll drive growth, strengthen customer relationships, champion innovation, and ensure our laboratories continue to deliver world-class quality, safety, and service.

The Day To Day

In this role, you'll:

  • Lead the strategic direction and execution of the New Zealand Food business
  • Drive operational excellence across multiple laboratory teams and disciplines
  • Own the New Zealand P&L, budgets, revenue growth, and profitability
  • Lead and develop a high-performing leadership team and build future capability
  • Drive business development, client retention, and market growth initiatives
  • Partner with ANZ and global teams to implement best practice and new technologies
  • Champion digital transformation, automation, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure excellence in quality, HSE, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness
  • Build strong relationships with key customers, regulators, and industry bodies
  • Identify investment opportunities and support long-term business growth

The Essentials

We're looking for an experienced senior leader who brings:

  • Significant leadership experience within laboratory operations or technical services
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-site or multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong commercial acumen with full P&L management experience
  • Proven ability to develop and execute business strategy
  • Experience leading organizational change and continuous improvement
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Strong leadership, communication, and influencing capability
  • Tertiary qualifications in Science, Food Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
