Psychologist - Tupu Ora

This is a position within our Child and Adolescent team, the primary focus is to meet the needs of child and adolescent whaiora and their family/whanau using contemporary models of intervention, which are safe, appropriate, and effective. The care is based on a comprehensive range of skills for designated clients within the context of a multi-disciplinary team approach.

Tupu Ora is a regional specialist service providing assessment and treatment for, children, adolescents, and adults with eating disorders. Tupu Ora also provides consultation to and liaison with community services and hospitals in the Metro Auckland region as well as specialist support to Northland.

Tupu Ora has a continuum of services including outpatient, and residential options. This position is primarily with community/outpatient team. As a member of the Tupu Ora team, you will work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team to provide assessment and specialist treatment to our clients of all ages presenting with moderate to severe eating disorders. You will also work collaboratively with other mental health teams providing specialist treatment for service users in other mental health treatment presenting with eating disorders. There may be opportunity to work across the continuum of services.

To be a successful applicant for this role, you will bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as a strong commitment to a multi-disciplinary team approach. Ideally you will have previously worked within Mental Health Sector and have a good understanding of evidenced based treatments for anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa, especially with children and adolescents to promote recovery.

  • You will hold a current Annual Practising Certificate
  • You must hold a valid, full New Zealand Drivers' License
  • Appropriate Qualification in Psychology
