Compensation Range: NZD$80,000 to NZD$110,000

Reporting to the QA Lead the Test Analyst is passionate about quality assurance, technology excellence, and building reliable software systems that our customers depend on. As a Test Analyst, you'll be at the heart of ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. You'll combine hands-on testing expertise with a strategic eye for building and maintaining effective testing frameworks. Your day-to-day will involve designing and executing risk-based testing approaches, managing our regression and integration test suites, collaborating closely with development teams to identify and resolve quality issues, and mentoring junior team members to elevate testing practices across the organisation. You'll contribute to continuous improvement of our testing processes while providing clear visibility into product quality to support confident delivery decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement tailored testing strategies that assess both functional and non-functional aspects, prioritising critical areas to validate system performance and user impact
  • Build and evolve automation solutions that are robust, easy to maintain, and scaled to support delivery timelines and quality gates
  • Execute diverse testing activities (including exploratory, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing) to uncover coverage gaps and safeguard service stability through each release
  • Develop and sustain comprehensive testing documentation (plans, test cases, datasets, issue logs) that remain relevant and audit-compliant
  • Review requirements from product and technical perspectives to surface risks, then partner with Product Owners and developers to shape the right testing approach
  • Spot and address areas where testing coverage is thin, keeping stakeholders informed through regular insights on coverage status and emerging concerns
  • Collaborate with development staff and technical leads to troubleshoot quality issues, determine defect priority, and drive continuous improvement in product reliability
  • Champion evolution of testing capabilities by suggesting process refinements, tool enhancements, and methodology updates that boost team productivity and quality standards
  • Guide and develop junior team members and Test Analysts by sharing expertise, providing constructive feedback, and fostering a culture of learning
  • Review all technical changes against quality criteria to confirm they meet our delivery standards before release

Key Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of hands-on testing experience in structured software development environments, actively involved across the full development cycle
  • Demonstrated capability in both manual and automated testing, with a track record of building and sustaining automation solutions
  • Proficiency with contemporary testing automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber, or equivalent platforms
  • Solid grounding in software development lifecycle principles, testing methodologies, quality assurance frameworks, and risk-focused testing strategies
  • Track record of testing web applications, REST/API layers, and integrated system workflows
  • ISTQB Foundation Certification or recognised QA qualification required; higher-level certifications are valued
  • Working knowledge of project management and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence) or experience with DevOps, cloud platforms, or containerised deployment models and exposure to technologies such as C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML
  • Strong analytical thinking and communication abilities, with proven capacity to influence testing standards and practices across both technical and business teams
  • Must have the right to work in New Zealand
