Own on-site traffic management operations for Fulton Hogan projects in Petone.

We're looking for an STMS to join our Traffic team in Petone. You'll be responsible for leading crews while complying with NZTA standards, helping us deliver safer roads.

About the role

In this key role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the safety of workers, motorists and pedestrians across all sites. You'll put traffic management plans into action in accordance with NZTA standards, while actively identifying and controlling any potential safety risks. You'll also keep communication clear and consistent with your crew, on-site teams and the public.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure correct signage, barriers, cones and other safety equipment are set up and maintained throughout the duration of the job
  • Supervise a team of Traffic Management Operatives, whilst liaising with other site supervisors, contractors and the client
  • Manage onsite traffic related incidents or emergencies

We're looking for someone with

  • Minimum Class 1 Full license (Class 2 preferred)
  • A valid STMS warrant/qualification (Cat A/B/C).
  • Practical experience working as an STMS
  • Strong understanding of H&S and environmental regulations relating to roadworks
  • Proven experience leading a crew
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • A good level of physical fitness
  • A good understanding of the transition to NZGTTM
