J & N Transport Limited is seeking a Class 4 Truck Drivers based in Christchurch. If you are a skilled driver with a passion for safety, efficiency and teamwork, this is your chance to secure a long-term role with great opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out transportation of general freight including dangerous goods, bulk deliveries and pickups from freight companies
  • Deliver and pickup goods from the freight companies with an ability to load and unload the truck using lifting and tipping devices, if required.
  • Carry out daily pre-checks of the vehicle and report any faults immediately
  • Report any problems, incidents/ accidents or customer complaints immediately
  • Secure the loads using load binders, chains and straps to prevent loss and damage of the goods
  • Adhere to Land Transport Safety Authority rules and regulations and keep a logbook of the hours worked
  • Keep records of, and check invoices for, goods you deliver/pickup
  • Carry out any other duties as requested by the designated Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 1 year relevant work experience
  • NZ Class 4 Driving License or overseas Driving License with an ability to obtain NZ Class 4 License
  • Knowledge of how to secure loads using load binders, chains and strops
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Good communication skills and a can-do attitude
  • Good time management skills
  • Must pass Ministry of Justice or Police Check

The pay rate for this position is between $30 per hour to $35 per hour based upon experience.
