We are seeking experienced Diamond Drillers for opportunities across New Zealand. We’re looking for skilled operators with proven experience setting up and operating diamond drilling rigs, recovering core samples, monitoring drilling operations and maintaining equipment.

You’ll bring strong mechanical aptitude, excellent safety awareness and experience within exploration, mining or geotechnical environments.

Advanced Personnel is seeking experienced Diamond Drillers for drilling and exploration opportunities in Auckland.

We’re looking for skilled operators with proven experience operating diamond drilling rigs and associated equipment within exploration, mining or geotechnical environments.

 

The role

  • Setting up, positioning and operating diamond drilling rigs

  • Operating drilling equipment to obtain core samples

  • Monitoring drilling operations and adjusting equipment as required

  • Recovering, handling and preparing core samples

  • Dismantling, moving and reassembling drilling rigs and associated equipment

  • Completing pre-start and routine equipment inspections

  • Performing minor maintenance, cleaning and lubrication of drilling equipment

  • Recording drilling performance and operational information

  • Operating associated pumps and drilling equipment

  • Maintaining high health and safety standards throughout drilling operations

 

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 5 years' relevant diamond drilling experience

  • Proven experience 

  • Experience within EXPLORATION / MINING / GEOTECHNICAL drilling

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and basic equipment maintenance skills

  • Experience recovering and handling core samples

  • Ability to accurately maintain drilling and operational records

  • Strong understanding of drilling and site safety requirements

  • Physically fit and comfortable working in demanding environments

  • Relevant licences, tickets or certifications required for the site

  • Reliable and able to work effectively within a drilling crew
