We are seeking experienced Commercial Ceiling Specialists / Ceiling Fixers for opportunities across the Southland Region. 

We’re looking for skilled tradespeople experienced in suspended ceilings, ceiling grids, plasterboard, acoustic systems and commercial interior fit-outs. You’ll be confident reading plans, accurately setting out ceiling systems and using trade tools safely.

Advanced Personnel is seeking experienced Commercial Ceiling Specialists / Ceiling Fixers for commercial construction and interior fit-out opportunities in Invercargill and the greater Southland region.

We’re looking for skilled tradespeople with proven experience installing suspended ceiling systems and associated commercial interior systems to a high standard.

 

The role

Duties may include:

  • Installing suspended and metal batten ceiling systems

  • Installing plasterboard ceilings and linings

  • Installing acoustic ceiling tiles and panels

  • Measuring, marking and cutting ceiling components

  • Setting out ceiling grids from plans and specifications

  • Installing insulation, acoustic and fire-rated systems

  • Using lasers to establish levels and ceiling heights

  • Reading and interpreting reflected ceiling plans and construction drawings

  • Working with steel framing and associated interior systems

  • Completing finishing work to required specifications

  • Working safely from ladders, scaffolds and elevated work platforms

  • Maintaining high quality and health and safety standards

 

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 5 years' commercial ceiling installation experience

  • Proven suspended ceiling and ceiling grid installation experience

  • Experience installing plasterboard and acoustic ceiling systems

  • Ability to read plans, specifications and reflected ceiling plans

  • Confident using hand and power tools

  • Strong measuring, setting-out and installation skills

  • Relevant trade qualification 

  • Commercial construction or interior fit-out experience

  • Strong understanding of working-at-heights and site safety requirements

  • Reliable and able to work independently and as part of a team
