About the Role We are looking for a Fleet Service Tyre Technician to join our Fleet Service team based in Cromwell.

You will be performing tyre management on our client's commercial fleets as well as call outs and after-hours requirements. Work will be on commercial trucks, utility vehicles, heavy construction equipment, and off-road vehicles.

Part of this role will be to deliver on the Carter’s Tyre Service pledge of 100% total customer satisfaction in our products and services to our customer… and to provide the highest quality customer service and sales for Carter’s Tyre Service.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Tyre industry experience – even better if it’s fleet service experience.
  • A clean full NZ Drivers Licence
  • Effective communication skills, must have good written and verbal skills
  • The ability to work on your own, unsupervised and in a busy workshop environment

Specific Duties and Responsibilities This shift runs during those hours our customers vehicles are out working. The main purpose is to respond to tyre-related damage caused in service at a variety of locations.

  • Strip and fit tyres as required.
  • Repair punctures according to the guidelines set out by management.
  • Perform fleet inspections, and report to the person responsible when tyres become unsafe and require replacement.
  • Alert customers to any vehicle faults within their fleet, e.g. wheel alignments etc.
  • Attend to callouts / After Hours callouts when and where required.
  • Manage stock holding/levels and customer requirements for retreads where required.
  • Observe all customer and company Health & Safety regulations. Including measures to ensure that your own safety is not compromised.
  • Responsible for daily calls to customers as per run sheets.
  • Complete and submit paperwork daily, includes obtaining order numbers and service details.

Additional Duties

  • Clean and keep your workspace, tools and appearance at a high level of tidiness - Includes greasing & oiling air tools and cleaning company vehicle weekly.
  • Always maintain a professional manner when dealing with all customers, and members of the public as a representative of the company.
  • Keep track of services, charges and account activity, and inform management of any discrepancies, or impending RUC charges.
  • Prioritise workload to ensure work of the greatest importance to the business is undertaken with urgency and to a high standard.
  • Support and help develop a positive workplace culture.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Responsibly manage business resources within accountability levels.
