We are a busy vehicle panel/paint workshop in Henderson, Auckland, is hiring two full-time Vehicle Painters (automotive spray painters). You'll prepare, mask, colour-match and spray vehicles to a high finish. Ideal applicants have at least 2 years' experience or a NZ Level 4 refinishing qualification, a great eye for colour, and a commitment to safety. You are expected working 30–40 hours/week. Responsibilities:
● Preparing vehicle surfaces for painting — sanding, filling, masking, cleaning and applying primer and
undercoat
● Removing rust, old paint and surface imperfections, and treating surfaces with rust-proofing where
required
● Mixing and matching paint colours to match each vehicle's finish

● Applying primer, base coat and clear coat using spray guns in a spray booth

● Blending and feathering paint into adjacent panels for a seamless finish

● Sanding between coats, then wet-sanding, buffing and polishing to a final finish

● Inspecting finished paintwork for defects such as runs, orange peel or colour variation, and correcting
them
● Detailing and polishing completed vehicles

● Maintaining spray guns, mixing equipment and the spray booth in clean, safe working order

● Complying with all company and government health and safety guidelines

● Any other tasks that are reasonably requested by the employer from time to time
