Create user-focused designs, craft polished UI assets, validate with research, and drive UX excellence in a global Agile product team
We have a 12-month contract opportunity available for an Intermediate UX Designer to join our Christchurch based clients. This is a project-based contract where the successful candidate will join a global User Experience team designing solutions for their Agile product team.  

This is a Christchurch based opportunity, we will not be considering remote or FIFO candidates for this position.

THE ROLE
As the UX Designer, you’ll be responsible for designing intuitive and engaging user experiences that balance user needs with business goals. You’ll produce high-quality UI/UX deliverables while conducting light user research and usability testing to validate your designs. You’ll collaborate closely with a global customer experience team acting as UX advocate and helping to drive user-centred thinking across the product lifecycle.

SKILL SET:
  • Tertiary degree in a relevant field and 3-5 + years of professional experience in UX, HCI, or human factors.
  • Well-versed in user-centred design methodologies and industry best practices.
  • Proficient in modern design tools such as Adobe XD, Illustrator, Figma, or Sketch.
  • Demonstrated strength in visual design, prototyping, and structuring information architecture.
  • Experience in automotive or mobile app development is a strong advantage.
  • Familiar with UI frameworks, design systems, component libraries, and front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or Android XML/Java.
  • *Geospatial industry experience is highly advantageous but not required to apply*
  

REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY:
  • Ability to travel approximately 1 week per quarter.
