Eago Lighting is an Auckland-based New Zealand lighting business specialising in the supply and distribution of lighting products for residential, commercial and industrial applications.
The business operates across product sourcing, wholesale distribution, warehousing, sales, customer service and online commerce. As the business continues to develop its product range, customer base and operating capabilities, Eago Lighting is investing in improved digital systems and technology infrastructure to strengthen operational efficiency, customer service and the development of connected lighting and smart-home products for the New Zealand market.
Eago Lighting is now seeking an experienced ICT Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination and delivery of a programme of ICT projects supporting the company’s operational digital transformation and connected-product development.
About the Role
The ICT Project Manager will be responsible for planning, organising, directing, controlling and coordinating ICT projects across Eago Lighting.
The position will initially lead two key areas of ICT project delivery:
1. Commerce & Fulfilment Systems Programme
The implementation and integration of appropriately scaled ERP, WMS and related business systems to improve the company’s procurement, inventory, sales, order processing, warehouse operations, delivery tracking, reporting and financial interfaces.
The ICT Project Manager will coordinate business requirements, system selection and implementation, integration, data migration, testing, deployment and transition to ongoing operations.
2. Connected Lighting & Smart Home ICT Programme
The development and implementation of the ICT capabilities required to support Eago Lighting’s expansion into selected connected lighting and smart-home products.
This programme may include integration between connected devices, gateways or hubs, mobile applications, cloud services and appropriate third-party technology platforms, together with the ICT systems and processes required to support these products in the New Zealand market.
The role will work closely with senior management, internal business users, ICT suppliers, software and system providers, overseas OEMs and technology partners to ensure that ICT projects are delivered within agreed scope, timeframes, budgets and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, manage and coordinate ICT projects and programmes from requirements definition and project initiation through system design, implementation, testing, deployment and transition to ongoing operations.
* Analyse business and operational requirements across procurement, inventory, warehousing, sales, e-commerce, customer service, finance and connected-product operations, translating business needs into ICT project requirements, specifications and deliverables.
* Lead the implementation and integration of commerce and fulfilment systems, including ERP/WMS, order management, product and customer master data, warehouse scanning, shipping and delivery tracking, reporting and related business-system interfaces.
* Coordinate the ICT delivery of connected lighting and smart-home initiatives, including the integration of connected devices, applications, cloud services and suitable third-party technology platforms.
* Coordinate New Zealand localisation and implementation of overseas technology and OEM solutions, including ICT requirements, system integration, data handling, testing, acceptance criteria, release management and operational readiness.
* Manage ICT suppliers, implementation partners and technology providers, establishing project milestones, deliverables, testing requirements, service expectations and acceptance processes.
* Manage project scope, schedules, resources, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies and changes, ensuring appropriate prioritisation and escalation to senior management.
* Coordinate system testing, user acceptance testing, data migration, deployment, training, implementation support and post-implementation review.
* Establish appropriate ICT project governance, change-control and delivery processes across the company’s technology initiatives.
* Monitor supplier performance, implementation progress, system releases, service levels and project benefits.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and further digital transformation across business operations.
* Report regularly to the Managing Director/Owner on project progress, expenditure, risks, issues, milestones, deliverables and recommended decisions.
* Maintain project documentation, implementation records, risk registers, decision logs, schedules and other appropriate project governance documentation.
Connected Lighting & Smart Home ICT Delivery
As part of the company’s future product development and digital transformation programme, the successful applicant will contribute to the ICT delivery framework for connected lighting and selected smart-home products sourced and customised through overseas OEM and technology partners.
This may include:
* evaluating suitable technology and platform options for connected products;
* coordinating integration between devices, applications, cloud services and third-party platforms;
* supporting the implementation of mobile applications and customer-facing digital services where commercially appropriate;
* establishing ICT requirements relating to customer data, privacy, security and system access in the New Zealand market;
* coordinating technology supplier changes, software updates and product releases; and
* establishing repeatable ICT configuration, testing, acceptance and deployment processes for future technology projects.
The position is responsible for ICT project delivery, systems integration and technology governance. It is not a role for electrical installation, building-site supervision or primary lighting/aesthetic design. Any electrical installation work required at customer or project sites will be undertaken by appropriately licensed electrical contractors.
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will have:
* A bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
* At least 5 years of relevant ICT project management, technology delivery or ICT programme experience.
* Demonstrated experience delivering software, information systems, digital platforms, IoT, smart-device or technology integration projects.
* Strong understanding of ICT project planning, requirements analysis, system implementation, testing, deployment and operational transition.
* Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, technical teams, suppliers and external technology providers.
* Strong experience in project governance, risk management, change control, vendor management and delivery assurance.
* The ability to manage multiple ICT projects and competing priorities while maintaining clear project objectives, delivery milestones and business outcomes.
* Strong analytical, organisational, problem-solving and communication skills.
* Excellent English communication skills. Mandarin or Cantonese language capability will be advantageous when working with Chinese OEM and technology partners.
* Experience with ERP/WMS, e-commerce, logistics systems, IoT, smart devices, cloud platforms, mobile applications or systems integration will be highly regarded.
* PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or similar project management certification is advantageous but not essential.
