About the Company
Stones Electrical is a well-established electrical contracting company that has been powering the Kāpiti Coast and greater Wellington region for over 40 years. With a 70+ strong team, a loyal client base and a solid pipeline of commercial work, we've built our reputation on one motto: Do it once, Do it right, Do it on time.
Our Commercial Division is busy and growing, with a strong forward workload of commercial projects across the region. We're looking for capable Site Managers to lead our crews on the ground and deliver the quality our name is known for.
About the Role
As a Commercial Site Manager, you'll be the driving force on site — running the day-to-day delivery of commercial electrical projects, leading our site crews, and working closely with our Project Managers to keep every job on programme, on budget and up to standard.
Key Responsibilities
On-Site Delivery:
• Run the day-to-day electrical works on commercial projects from setup to handover
• Lead, coordinate and support site crews of electricians and apprentices
• Plan ahead — labour, materials, plant and access — so the job never stalls
• Maintain quality assurance, test documentation and as-built records
Coordination & Compliance:
• Work in step with Project Managers on programme, variations and progress reporting
• Liaise with main contractors, other trades and site management daily
• Champion health & safety on site — toolbox talks, task analysis, incident reporting
• Uphold our standards on every install — our name is on every job
What We're Looking For
• Registered Electrician with a current NZ practising licence
• Proven experience running commercial sites or leading crews as a foreman/supervisor
• Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, specs and programmes
• A natural leader who gets the best out of a crew and keeps other trades onside
• Well organised, safety-focused and calm when the pressure comes on
• Full NZ Driver's Licence
What's in it for You?
• Long-term role with a stable, 40+ year-old company that looks after its people
• Competitive package (negotiable based on experience)
• Vehicle, phone and tools of trade provided
• A strong pipeline of interesting commercial projects across the region
• Supportive Project Managers and an experienced back office behind you
• Real career progression — many of our leaders started on the tools with us
