Supply Distribution Manager

Dandi Candy is one of Wellington's confectionery distributors, bringing sweet treats to retailers across the region. We're looking for an experienced Supply & Distribution Manager to take ownership of our purchasing, storage and distribution operations and keep our supply chain running smoothly.

About the role

Reporting to senior management, you'll be responsible for the end-to-end flow of goods — from negotiating with suppliers through to getting finished products out the door and into our customers' hands. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives on efficiency, cost control and building strong supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities

•    Determine, implement and monitor purchasing, storage and distribution strategies, policies and plans

•    Prepare and implement plans to maintain required stock levels at minimum cost

•    Negotiate contracts with suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements

•    Monitor and review storage and inventory systems to meet supply requirements and control stock levels

•    Operate recording systems to track all movements of supplies and finished goods, ensuring re-ordering and re-stocking at optimal times

•    Liaise with other departments and customers regarding outward goods and forwarding transportation

•    Oversee the recording of purchase, storage and distribution transactions

•    Direct staff activities and monitor their performance

About you

•    A Bachelor's degree, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience

•    Proven experience in supply chain, logistics, procurement or a related management role

•    Strong negotiation skills and a track record of securing favourable supplier terms

•    Solid understanding of inventory and stock management systems

•    Excellent organisational skills with a sharp eye for cost efficiency

•    Confident leading and developing a team

•    Great communication skills and the ability to work across departments
