All Trades Contract Services are looking for skilled CNC Machine Operator to join our team to work with our client based in the Hawkes Bay
About the role:
- Starting wage of $30.00 to $32.00 per hour
- Permanent contract.
- Minimum guranteed 30 hours per week.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and job requirements to determine material, tooling, machine and manufacturing requirements.
- Determine appropriate manufacturing methods and sequences for producing sheet-metal components.
- Measure and mark out aluminium and other sheet-metal materials in accordance with drawings and specifications.
- Select appropriate press brake punches, dies and other tooling based on material type, thickness, bend radius and component requirements.
- Set up, align and adjust CNC and manual press brake machinery for production.
- Create, enter, modify and optimise CNC press brake programmes, including bending sequences and back-gauge positions.
- Calculate bend allowances, bend deductions and other measurements required to accurately form components.
- Account for material characteristics, including aluminium springback, when determining machine settings and bending requirements.
- Position and align sheet-metal blanks accurately using machine backgauges and other positioning equipment.
- Carry out test bends and make adjustments to tooling, programming and machine settings to achieve the required dimensions and angles.
- Operate press brakes and other relevant machinery to cut, shape, bend and form aluminium and other sheet-metal components.
- Inspect completed components using verniers, protractors, gauges, templates and other measuring equipment.
- Check finished components against engineering drawings, specifications and required tolerances.
- Identify manufacturing or quality issues and determine appropriate adjustments to the machine setup, tooling or programme.
- Carry out finishing and refinement work using appropriate hand and power tools where required.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Carry out routine cleaning, inspection and basic maintenance of machinery and tooling.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures, including safe operating procedures for press brakes and associated equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area.
- Work collaboratively with production and engineering staff to meet production schedules and quality requirements.
