JS TAX SOLUTIONS LIMITED is a professional tax, accounting and business advisory firm based in Mt Eden, Auckland. Established in 2014, the company provides accounting and tax services to a range of clients, including small and medium-sized businesses, self-employed individuals, property investors and growing businesses.

Our services include accounting, financial reporting, GST and PAYE compliance, payroll services, IRD review and audit support, business structuring and financial advisory.

About the Role

We are looking for a capable and detail-oriented Accountant to join our professional team in Auckland. The successful candidate will support day-to-day accounting activities, financial reporting, tax compliance and client accounting services, while also assisting with financial analysis and advisory work.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records, including general ledgers, invoices, bank transactions and supporting financial documentation.
2. Assist with the preparation of financial statements, management reports and other financial information for clients.
3. Prepare and review GST, PAYE and other routine tax-related records and documentation.
4. Reconcile bank accounts, financial records and transaction data, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
5. Assist with payroll processing and related accounting and compliance requirements.
6. Review financial data and accounting records to identify errors, inconsistencies and potential compliance issues.
7. Support the preparation of annual accounts, tax returns and other accounting documentation.
8. Assist with IRD reviews, audit-related work and the preparation of supporting financial information.
9. Analyse financial information and provide practical accounting and financial insights to support client business decisions.
10. Communicate with clients and work with internal team members to collect financial information, clarify accounting matters and ensure work is completed accurately and on time.

Requirements

1. A relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or a related discipline.
2. A strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and taxation.
3. Experience or knowledge of accounting information systems and financial data analysis.
4. Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
5. Good written and verbal communication skills.
6. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a professional accounting team.
7. Experience with financial analysis, internal controls, audit or business advisory work would be an advantage.
8. IELTS 6.5 or equivalent English proficiency is preferred.
