About the role

As an Oral Health Promotion Advisor, you'll lead community-based initiatives that educate, prevent and promote lifelong oral health. Building on the strong engagement already established across schools, early learning settings and communities, you'll work alongside whānau, Māori and Pacific communities, educators and health partners to deliver impactful programmes that improve health outcomes and reduce inequities.

In this role, you will:

• Deliver oral health promotion initiatives, including facilitating fluoride varnish and supervised toothbrushing programmes.
• Develop and implement culturally responsive health promotion activities grounded in Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity principles.
• Build trusted relationships with mana whenua, community groups, schools, health providers and key stakeholders.
• Use evidence and community insights to identify needs, design solutions and evaluate outcomes.

About you

You're a passionate health promoter who thrives on building strong community connections and creating meaningful change. With a focus on equity, and prevention, you'll be confident working alongside whānau, schools, community groups and health partners to deliver initiatives that improve oral health outcomes across the region.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

• A relevant tertiary qualification in health promotion, education, Māori or Pacific studies, or a related field.
• Experience delivering health promotion, community development or oral health initiatives.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office, Excel and SharePoint.
• A current full New Zealand driver's licence
