Associate Clinical Nurse Manager, Emergency Department

In this senior clinical leadership role, you will provide direct clinical coordination and expertise, ensuring a safe and effective practice environment while supporting the management of patient and workflow throughout the department.

You will coordinate and lead a collaborative transdisciplinary team to enhance patient-centred care, provide leadership in complex clinical situations, support patient flow, and act as deputy to the Clinical Nurse Manager when required.

About you:

  • Current New Zealand Registered Nurse Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
  • NZQA Postgraduate Diploma (or equivalent) and working towards a Master's qualification.
  • PDRP Proficient level and working towards Expert or Designated Senior Nurse level.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years' recent clinical experience with leadership responsibilities, including shift leadership or coordination.
  • Strong leadership, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams and health sectors.
  • A commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and staff development

Desirable:

  • Specialty knowledge and experience within an Emergency Department setting
  • Leadership qualification.
