Senior Service Engineer
At Sealed Air, we're not just about packaging—we're about protecting what matters. We're seeking a skilled and motivated Service Engineer to join our team and support our cutting-edge packaging equipment across New Zealand. As a Service Engineer, you'll be the technical expert responsible for:
- Installation & Commissioning: Supervise and execute installation of Sealed Air packaging equipment at customer sites.
- Servicing, Troubleshooting & Repairs: Perform scheduled maintenance and emergency breakdown repairs.
- Customer Training: Educate clients on equipment usage and maintenance.
- Audits & Proposals: Collaborate with Sales on equipment/material audits and contribute to proposals and competitor analysis.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate service records and generate customer service reports.
- Inventory Management: Manage spare parts stock and service tool kits for your designated region.
The primary location would be within Hamilton - however interstate travel is required to support the business throughout New Zealand.
What You'll Do:
- Supervise the installation or commissioning of Sealed Air equipment into the customer's packaging plant.
- Maintain the equipment servicing requirements and reporting of all Sealed Air equipment within allocated responsibility.
- Manage the emergency breakdown repairs to customer's equipment.
- Customer invoicing for servicing equipment and spare parts.
- Conduct material and equipment audits with the Sales Department.
- Develop a strong customer service relationship to expand our existing equipment and service business.
- Control the spare parts stock and manage the service tool kits for your allocated state responsibility.
- Strict compliance to Sealed Air OHS policies including: Risk Assessment, JSA's SOPs, JSRA's etc.
- Prepare and distribute customer service reports for all service work undertaken.
- Maintain and update all record systems relating to our customer's equipment.
What You'll Bring:
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or service-based industry.
- Hands-on experience with equipment installation, ideally in packaging machinery.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Solid computer literacy, especially in Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of packaging materials and equipment is a plus.
Qualifications:
- A Grade Electrical License with strong mechanical skills, OR Mechanical Fitter with a restricted electrical license and willingness to upskill.
