Vintage Assistant Winemakers And Operations Support Crew
Vintage 2027 is your chance to be part of it. We're gearing up for another incredible harvest and are seeking positive, capable and self-motivated individuals to join our Vintage Assistant Winemaker & Operations Support Crew, covering three key roles: Vintage Assistant Winemaker, Front End Coordinator, Vintage Planner. If you're ready to coordinate grape intake, support technical winemaking decisions, or help plan daily processing priorities, you'll play a vital part in delivering a world-class vintage.
These fixed-term, full-time positions run for the entire vintage period, with start dates from mid-February to early March 2026. You'll work shifts across our 24-hour operation, with responsibilities tailored to your assigned role.
Vintage Planner
You'll manage the complex scheduling, logistics and communication that drive harvest, including:
- Planning daily grape intake with winemakers and viticulturists, tracking tank space, press capacity and cooling availability
- Coordinating maturity testing and pick dates, recording intake statistics, block tonnages and work orders
- Ensuring quality and legal specifications are met
- Solving technical and processing problems as they arise

Front End Coordinator
You'll be the link between vineyard, weighbridge and winery operations, ensuring fruit arrives safely and flows smoothly into the winery. Coordinating truck arrivals and grape receival, directing fruit to the correct processing area Creating cellar work orders, ensuring paperwork and intake documentation are accurate Requesting analysis from the laboratory Supporting winemakers with technical and processing decisions Winery experience isn't essential, full training provided. A logistics or operations background is ideal.
Vintage Assistant Winemaker
You'll work closely with our winemaking team to support daily production decisions and maintain quality across all wines. Creating cellar work orders Monitoring quality and legal specifications Assisting with technical problem-solving, supporting daily workflow planning Communicating with cellar teams, lab staff and Front End operations This role requires previous vintage experience and a relevant tertiary qualification.

You will have: Strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail Confidence working with data, plans and digital tools (Office 365, Excel) Ability to prioritise tasks and stay calm under pressure, problem-solving skills and a safety-focused mindset Experience in winemaking or winery operations (Assistant Winemaker roles) Legal right to work in New Zealand
