Join Our User Experience Team for Summer Internship

At Tait Communications, our Summer Internships give students the opportunity to work on real projects, solve genuine engineering challenges, and contribute to products that help keep communities safe and connected.

This summer, join our User Experience team and help explore the future of accessories for mission-critical radio systems. This project will focus on identifying opportunities for next-generation accessory solutions, including audio accessories, charging systems, wearable devices, carry solutions, and emerging technologies that improve the user experience.

Working alongside designers, engineers, and product teams, you will research user needs, investigate industry trends, generate concepts, and evaluate ideas that could influence future product development. The project will provide exposure to user-centred design, product discovery, concept development, prototyping, and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Researching customer and user needs through interviews, observations, and feedback analysis.
• Exploring current and emerging accessory technologies.
• Identifying opportunities to improve the usability, performance, and value of radio accessories.
• Developing and communicating product concepts through sketches, CAD models, prototypes, and presentations.
• Presenting project findings and recommendations to stakeholders at the conclusion of the internship.

We're looking for a curious and motivated student who enjoys solving real-world problems and creating products that have meaningful impact.

You may be studying Industrial Design, Product Design, Engineering, Design Innovation, Human-Centred Design, or a related discipline.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• An interest in technology, product development, and user-centred design.
• The ability to communicate ideas clearly through visual, written, and verbal formats.
• Experience with design research, concept development, CAD, prototyping, or related design tools.
• Confidence working both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• A willingness to learn, explore new ideas, and engage with end users to understand their needs.

Most importantly, you'll be enthusiastic about contributing to products that help keep people safe and connected in critical situations.
