We are looking for a motivated and reliable Tyre Technician / Customer Service Representative to join a busy tyre operation based in Mt Maunganui.
This is a varied role combining hands-on tyre fitting and technical work with customer service, deliveries and workshop administration. The successful candidate will work across a range of tyre types, including solid forklift tyres, truck tyres and light vehicle tyres.
This is a sole-charge position, so we are looking for someone who is confident working independently, has good initiative and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service.
The role will initially be workshop and customer focused, with the opportunity to progress into fleet service call-outs as your skills and experience develop.
Key Responsibilities

Fitting, removing and servicing tyres across forklifts, trucks and light vehicles

Working with solid forklift tyres and commercial truck tyres

Providing friendly and professional customer service

Serving customers in the workshop and assisting with tyre enquiries

Completing local tyre deliveries

Operating the company's in-house computer system

Maintaining accurate job and customer records

Keeping the workshop clean, safe and organised

Working independently and managing daily tasks effectively

Building strong relationships with customers and local businesses

Progressing into fleet servicing and mobile call-outs as required
About You
We are looking for someone who:

Has a genuine interest in the tyre/automotive industry

Is reliable, punctual and has a strong work ethic

Is confident dealing directly with customers

Can work independently and take responsibility for their workload

Has good communication and organisational skills

Is physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work

Is willing to learn and develop their tyre fitting and technical skills

Is confident using computers and learning new systems

Has a professional and positive attitude
Previous tyre fitting or automotive experience is preferred, but candidates with a strong work ethic and relevant mechanical or workshop experience may also be considered.
Requirements

Full Class 1 driver's licence

Clean criminal history

Legally entitled to work in New Zealand

Currently residing in New Zealand

Ability to work independently in a sole-charge environment
