Kaitiaki o te Ngahere is a Wellington-based ecological restoration and biosecurity company, specialising in pest plant and animal control, and native revegetation across the lower North Island. We are seeking a Team Member to join our team, delivering high-quality, safe, and effective restoration work across the Wellington region. This is a hands-on outdoor role suited to someone who is passionate about protecting and restoring Aotearoa's natural environment and takes pride in physically demanding, meaningful work.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • GrowSafe Certificate
  •  First Aid Certificate
  •  Full NZ Driver Licence
  •  Manual Driving (preferred)
  •  Field experience in controlling pest plants and pest animals will be highly preferred

Job Responsibilities:

  • Carry out pest plant control operations, including manual methods, powered tools, and agrichemical application, in accordance with job briefs, GrowSafe requirements, and company SOPs
  • Undertake pest animal control, including setting, checking, resetting, and recording trap lines across a range of trap types
  • Support native revegetation activities, including planting and establishment-phase weed control
  • Carry out pest plant survey work and native forest survey plots, accurately recording GPS tracklogs and point data in line with SOPs and client specifications
  • Follow all health and safety requirements, including correct PPE use, safe chemical handling, and hazard identification and reporting
  • Participate in pre-work briefings and toolbox talks, and maintain full Kaitiaki uniform and PPE at all times
  • Care for and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles, including reporting faults and PPE requirements promptly
  • Be available for away-from-home work as required, and operate vehicles safely and professionally to and between sites
