Civil Construction Worker

About the Role

Due to continued growth and a strong forward workload, we are seeking motivated Civil Construction Workers to join our team.

The role involves a variety of civil construction activities and manual labouring tasks across multiple projects. You will work alongside experienced operators, foremen, and supervisors while contributing to the successful delivery of civil infrastructure projects.

Location: Queenstown Lakes District 
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Pay Rate: $26.00 - $36.00 per hour (depending on skills and experience)
Hours of Work: Guaranteed minimum 80 hours per fortnight, up to 120 hours per fortnight. Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday work as required.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• General civil construction labouring.
• Assisting with earthworks, drainage, roading, and infrastructure projects.
• Loading, unloading, and moving construction materials.
• Operating hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Assisting with site preparation, trenching, pipe laying, and reinstatement activities.
• Operating civil heavy machinery such as rollers, excavators, loaders,
• Maintaining vehicles, plant, tools, and equipment.
• Completing timesheets and other required documentation accurately.
• Following all company health and safety procedures.
• Working effectively within a team environment and following directions from supervisors and foremen.

What We're Looking For

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

• Ideally at least 1 year of relevant civil construction, labouring, infrastructure, or related industry experience.
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labouring duties.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual, and motivated attitude.
• Good communication skills.
• A current New Zealand driver's licence or the ability to obtain is preferred.
• W, T, R endorsements and Class 2 licence advantageous but not essential.
