Play a pivotal role in improving care delivery in the Health NZ Southern district.

This is a one-year fixed term full-time position based in Dunedin

The Planning, Funding and Outcomes (PFO) team working in the Southern district is entering an exciting period with all programmes undergoing significant service developments. The PFO team are responsible for commissioning i.e., to analyse, design and plan, fund and monitor community-based health services across the health system to improve the well-being of whānau and communities and address persistent inequities in access and outcomes. In doing this, PFO seeks to use available Health NZ resources in the most efficient, effective, and sustainable way.

The New Dunedin Hospital provides an opportunity to rethink how the health system responds to this increased demand by enabling more integrated service delivery across the district.

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the efficient, effective, and timely delivery of key programmes of work and projects, within the scope of the Southern District Integration Programme. The specific programmes/projects to be delivered will depend on the needs of the team, organisational priorities, and relevant areas of expertise of the position holder.

To excel in this role, you will have:

• a strong customer focused approach with a can-do attitude
• understanding of New Zealand Health sector and service delivery
• experience in health systems and quality improvement in a health care setting
• excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills
• strong written and oral communication skills
• a relevant tertiary qualification
• a keen eye for detail and passion for delivering a quality product when its needed
• Be agile in your approach and able to move between tasks and projects in response to shifting priorities.
