Telehealth Specialist - Health Advisory
Fixed term, part-time role (0.6FTE) working 24 hours per week based in Whangārei until 2 April 2027. About the Role
As a Telehealth Specialist, you will play a pivotal role supporting and implementing telehealth solutions across Te Tai Tokerau. Working at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and service improvement, you will help shape how virtual care is delivered, ensuring patients and whānau can access high-quality services regardless of location.
In this varied and autonomous role, you will manage the day-to-day operation of telehealth services, provide training and technical support to clinicians and staff, and support the development of sustainable digital health solutions. You will partner with clinical and digital teams to implement innovative technologies, improve workflows, and support the ongoing evolution of virtual healthcare across the region.
About the Team/Service/Location
The Telehealth service supports a wide range of clinical, community, acute care, and corporate services throughout Northland. Working closely with Digital Services and clinical teams, the service enables equitable access to healthcare through innovative virtual care and video conferencing solutions.

About You
As a Telehealth Specialist, you will be a confident relationship builder with strong technical expertise and a passion for improving healthcare through digital innovation. You will bring:
- A relevant tertiary qualification and experience in information technology, digital health, or a related field
- Proven experience delivering projects and implementing technical solutions and processes
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot, support users, and manage technology platforms
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across clinical, operational, and technical teams
- An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori and all communities
