National Team Leader – Projects
Downer holds a long-term Asset Management and Facilities Management contract with the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice that proactively manages and delivers to the national portfolio of facilities including 15 prisons, 98 courts and 141 community correctional sites.
We're looking for an experienced National Team Lead to provide leadership across a national portfolio of projects supporting critical government facilities. Working closely with the National Programme Manager and key stakeholders, you'll play a pivotal role in driving programme performance, developing high-performing project teams, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to a consistently high standard.
This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:
- Lead and support national project teams to plan, execute and deliver programmes of work in line with customer, contractual and business requirements
- Partner closely with the National Programme Manager to manage programme performance, including budgets, forecasts, reporting and risk mitigation
- Monitor project progress against milestones, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget and aligned to quality-assured programme methodologies
- Build capability across the Project Management team through coaching, training, workshops and performance support to drive consistency and accountability
- Develop and maintain accurate, high-quality reporting, documentation and presentations for customers and key stakeholders
- Foster strong, collaborative relationships with customers, internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to achieve positive commercial and service outcomes
- Ensure compliance with Zero Harm, safety, quality, commercial and governance requirements, proactively managing risks and non-conformance
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, systems, tools and ways of working across the national programme
