Our goal is to improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders by delivering equitable, accessible and innovative care.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our regional Finance team. This role provides high-quality financial insight, analysis and decision support, helping to improve the understanding of financial performance, business drivers and opportunities across the region.

You'll work in partnership with district finance teams, service leaders, corporate functions and regional leadership to develop consistent, actionable reporting and analysis. Your work may span financial modelling, forecasting, performance reporting, activity and cost analysis, contract and revenue analysis, benefits tracking, savings initiatives, business cases, improvement initiatives, data quality improvement and service planning support.

The role will help strengthen the connection between operational metrics and financial performance. And in turn translate some of this complex data into practical insights for decision makers in a way that is consistent across the region.

You'll develop financial models and scenario analysis, test assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and translate complex financial and operational information into clear insights for both financial and non-financial audiences. You'll also contribute to improving reporting, data and financial processes, supporting regional improvement programmes and helping leaders make informed operational and strategic decisions.

About You

You are an experienced financial analyst with strong commercial and analytical skills. You enjoy investigating complex information, identifying the story behind the numbers and turning data into practical insights and recommendations.

You will bring:

  • 5–10 years' analytical experience in a financial role, with exposure to complex financial, operational or performance data.
  • Strong experience in financial analysis, modelling, forecasting and reporting, with the ability to use business information to inform decision-making.
  • Extensive experience using reporting and analytical tools, with CA membership or equivalent.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and explain complex financial information clearly to different audiences.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and a passion for solving problems

Experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems, Qlik or other data visualisation software, process and system improvements, new technologies and initiatives focused on improving financial outcomes would be highly desirable.
