Environmental And Health & Safety Advisor
We're looking for an Environmental And Health & Safety Advisor to join our team in Manawatū. You'll help drive safe, compliant and practical outcomes across our sites, supporting crews and leaders to deliver good work the right way.
This is a hands-on, multi-site advisory role supporting both environmental and health & safety performance across our Manawatū operations. You'll work alongside crews, leaders and stakeholders to make sure our sites are operating safely, meeting environmental requirements, and staying focused on continuous improvement. It's a role for someone who can build trust, provide practical advice and leadership.
Key role responsibilities include:
- Provide day-to-day advice and onsite support across environmental and health & safety activities in the region.
- Support crews and leaders to meet consent conditions, legislative requirements, and Fulton Hogan procedures.
- Identify risks, review controls, and help improve site practices so work is carried out safely and with minimal environmental impact.
- Assist with incident investigations, corrective actions, and close-out of environmental and health & safety events, near misses and observations.
- Deliver education, coaching and learning to build capability across environmental compliance, safety systems and safe work practices.
- Monitor, report on and support improvement actions across audits, inspections, OFIs and compliance activities.
We're looking for someone with:
- 5 years' experience in an environmental, health and safety advisory role.
- Environmental compliance management experience, with a practical understanding of how to maintain standards, interpret requirements and support compliant outcomes on site.
- Familiarity with environmental legislation, regulatory compliance processes, and ideally ISO 14001 systems.
- Good working knowledge of environmental compliance, risk management and site safety practices.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to coach, influence and keep things clear and straight up.
- Confidence working with operational teams in the field and building strong, practical relationships.
- A proactive, accountable approach and a genuine commitment to safety, wellbeing and continuous improvement.
- A current Class 1 driver licence.
- The ability to carry out the inherent requirements of the role, including regular travel to sites and working in outdoor operational environments.
