Hairdresser and Beauty Therapist

Type of work: Permanent, full-time
Pay rate: $25.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience
Hours: A minimum of 30 hours per week is guaranteed, with up to 45 hours per week available during busy periods.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Consulting with clients about their hair and beauty treatment requirements.
• Cutting, styling, colouring and straightening hair.
• Providing hair and scalp treatments.
• Providing face and body treatments, including facials, scrubs and peels.
• Shaping and tinting eyebrows and eyelashes, including providing lash-lifting treatments.
• Performing facial and body waxing and threading.
• Advising clients on suitable haircare, beauty treatments and products.
• Cleaning and sanitising tools, equipment and treatment areas.

Minimum requirements

• At least two years of relevant experience providing both hairdressing and beauty therapy services.
• Practical skills in both hairdressing and beauty therapy treatments.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Knowledge of salon hygiene and safe treatment practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Availability to work rostered hours, including weekends and during busy periods.
