ALI COURIERS LIMITED, Auckland, is looking for TWO Mechanics, someone friendly, motivated and who enjoys working in a team Environment. This is a Permanent, full-time position with a minimum of 30 hours per week, paid at $30.00 to $31.00 per hour.

ALI COURIERS LIMITED provides repair services to vehicles in the Automotive industry, including walk-in customers. This is a fast-paced role with unlimited learning each day. You must have a good work ethic, practical skills, and a passion for working on cars.

What will you do:

  • Understand automotive systems, including electrical and mechanical.
  • Carry out automotive servicing, repair, and replacement of parts, general maintenance, and automotive repair work on all types of passenger and light commercial vehicles.
  • Diagnosis of vehicle faults (engine, fuel systems, breaks, emission standards) using suitable and appropriate equipment to determine the nature and required repair work to remedy the faults.
  • Use of computers to diagnose and repair engine assemblies including assembling a dismantling the whole LMV engine.
  • Understand of the Asian and European car makers & engine assemblies with the ability to refer to service manuals, if and when required
  • Communicate clearly with customers to inform them of issues with the vehicle simply, what parts and or work is required, advise of pricing and timeframe, and any other matters.
  • Perform set work within the industry, generally accepted and agreed timeframes.
  • Inspect the vehicle and roadworthiness for our customers and advise on any potential issues that warrant fixing to achieve the same.

We need someone who has:

  • 2 – 3 Years of Work Experience in a similar industry
  • NZQF Level 4 Qualification can also substitute for work experience.
  • Maintain a high-quality level of work standard with minimal faults.
  • Great work ethic with the ability to perform hands-on repair with minimum turnaround time.
  • Knowledgeable in vehicle electrical wiring systems
  • Comfortable with ordering parts and dealing with customers, generally possessing a
  • customer-focused approach in their dealings with our customers and vendors.
  • Comfortable with basic computer skills
  • Valid Driving License of in New Zealand or equivalent overseas license
  • Must be able to work on weekends.
  • Able to start early and Finish (When required)
  • Able to work in Floating & Split Shifts
  • Physically Fit & able to lift weights up to 25 kg.
  • Must be able to pass a random drug test.
