We are looking for experienced Fabricators/Welders to join our team in Taranaki, and may travel to work in other regions in national wide if required. The role is responsible for fabricating quality metal structures from start to finish to ensure our products meet the needs, purpose and standards for the customers.

Job Description:

Position purpose: Create a positive environment to conduct business. To provide each customer the highest quality products and services, jointly driving profitable growth and to maintain a healthy and safe environment for all, every day.

Main tasks: Core objectives include:

  • Operating equipment and applying safety practice at work while performing his/her duties
  • Clamping, holding, tack-welding, heat-bending, bolting or grinding spare parts as necessary to satisfy the technical requirements and create a welded final product.
  • Operating other accessory equipment and performing some tasks necessary for welding metal, such as fusing metal segments, using gas tungsten arc, metal arc, flux cored arc, plasma arc and other types of welding arcs.
  • Control the processes of fitting, burning and welding to avoid problems in relation to overheat, distortion, expansion or shrink of spare parts.
  • Examining finished products and spare parts and comparing them with samples or drawings to check whether the specifications are met.

Other Duties:

  • Ensuring work area is tidy and hazard free
  • Tidy workshop and yard as required
  • Fulfil other duties as required by management or other department personnel as requested

To qualify for this role, you need to have:

Qualifications:

  • Trade Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Fitting/Welding equivalent
  • Welding Certificates

Experience:

  • 3 years experience in fitting welding

For the right candidate, we offer an hourly rate from $35 - $45 per hour depending on experience/skills, with guaranteed 40 hours per week.
