Main Duties
Fabricate, assemble and install steelwork for dairy yards, sheds, gates, rails and associated structures.
Manufacture and erect shed portals, structural steelwork, brackets, frames and other fabricated components.
Carry out welding, cutting, grinding, drilling and general metal fabrication in the workshop and on-site.
Read and interpret basic engineering drawings, plans and measurements.
Carry out on-site installation, modifications and repairs to steel structures and dairy equipment.
Perform regular maintenance, servicing and repairs on company machinery, vehicles and equipment.
Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out general mechanical repairs as required.
Maintain and repair farm and construction machinery, including hydraulic, mechanical and fabricated components.
Carry out preventative maintenance to minimise machinery downtime and breakdowns.
Assist with general repairs, modifications and maintenance across the workshop, farm and work sites.
Operate workshop machinery and tools safely and competently.
Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with company procedures and relevant health and safety requirements.
Maintain a clean, tidy and safe workshop and worksite.
Assist other team members with construction, engineering and civil work as required.
Undertake other reasonable duties associated with the role and the operation of the business.
Key Skills and Experience
Experience in engineering, fabrication, welding or mechanical maintenance.
Competent with MIG, TIG welding and general fabrication equipment.
Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work both in the workshop and on-site.
Good understanding of machinery maintenance and repairs.
Ability to work safely around heavy machinery, farm equipment and construction sites.
A full driver’s licence is preferred.
Relevant engineering, welding or mechanical qualifications are advantageous but not essential where suitable experience can be demonstrated.
With atleast 2 years relevant experience.
Roster: Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:00PM
Guaranteed 40 hours / week
