Beauty Therapist

The role

As a Beauty Therapist, you will deliver a broad range of professional beauty treatments to a high standard, provide expert advice to clients, and help maintain the salon's reputation for quality and care. Duties include:

• Discussing client needs, analysing skin characteristics, and advising on suitable skincare, treatments and the application of make-up
• Applying general cosmetic and corrective make-up
• Performing facial treatments and skin-care therapies, including cleansing, exfoliation, masks and specialised skin treatments
• Performing body treatments such as massage
• Treating unwanted hair through waxing, bleaching, tinting, depilation and (where qualified) electrolysis
• Performing manicures and pedicures, including decorative nail art, application and repair of artificial nails, and other specialised hand and foot treatments
• Providing advice on, and selling, cosmetic and skincare products
• Evaluating beauty therapy processes and products, and recommending improvements
• Receiving bookings, arranging appointments and maintaining accurate client records
• Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic work environment in line with health and safety and infection-control standards

Skills and experience required

• A relevant  qualification or two years of relevant work experience
• Practical competence across facials, waxing, manicures/pedicures and body treatments preferred
• Strong customer-service and communication skills
• Reliability, professionalism and good attention to hygiene and presentation
• Ability to work rostered hours including some weekends as required
• Applicants must have the right to work in New Zealand, or be eligible to obtain it

Hours and conditions

This is a full-time, permanent position of at least 30 guaranteed hours per week worked across the salon's operating days. All terms and conditions comply with New Zealand employment law and will be set out in a written employment agreement.
