Are you an experienced Heavy Fabricator and Pipe Welder looking to get stuck straight into a new project ? We are seeking a skilled tradesperson to join a busy and well-established engineering team in Whanganui, supporting a strong pipeline of industrial and fabrication projects.

This role offers immediate work through to Christmas, with the opportunity for an extension depending on upcoming contracts and project commitments.

The Role
This position will see you working across a range of fabrication and welding projects, producing high-quality work to specification and industry standards.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Heavy fabrication of structural steel and industrial components
  • Pipe fabrication and welding
  • Welding carbon steel and stainless steel pipework
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Workshop assembly and fit-up work
  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship, quality, and safety
  • Working independently and collaboratively within a skilled team
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
  • Proven experience as a Heavy Fabricator and Welder
  • Strong background in pipe fabrication and pipe welding
  • Experience welding both carbon steel and stainless steel
  • Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings
  • Excellent fabrication skills with strong attention to detail
  • A solid understanding of workshop safety and quality standards
