Classic Barbers Ltd is looking for two talented, passionate Barbers to join our team! Responsibilities:
● Client Consultation & Services: Welcome clients warmly, assess hair and scalp condition, and provide tailored styling or grooming recommendations. Perform high-quality hair cutting, trimming, styling, and traditional face/head shaves according to client preferences.
● Beard & Facial Hair Grooming: Execute precision shaping, trimming, and hot-towel razor shaving for beards and moustaches using professional tools and styling products.
● Hygiene, Sanitation & Safety: Maintain strict sterilisation, sanitisation, and cleaning protocols for all scissors, clippers, guards, and razors in accordance with local council health bylaws and the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015. Ensure safe handling and disposal of single-use blades and sharps.
● Workstation & Shop Maintenance: Keep personal workstation clean, disinfected, and organised before and after each client. Assist with general daily salon upkeep, including floor sweeping, surface sanitisation, product restocking, and end-of-day shop resets.
● Client Retention & Promotion: Deliver exceptional customer service to build a loyal client base. 

Actively participate in self-promotion and salon marketing through professional social media channels (e.g., Instagram, Facebook) to showcase completed work.

Requirements and Skills:
● Qualifications & Experience: New Zealand Certificate in Commercial Barbering (NZQF Level 4) or Hairdressing equivalent, OR a minimum of 3 years of verifiable barbering industry experience.
● Technical Equipment: Ownership of a complete, high-quality set of professional barbering tools (clippers, trimmers, shears, razors) maintained to trade standards.
● Interpersonal &Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal communication, active listening, and customer service skills, with a welcoming, client-focused attitude.
● Work Ethic & Professionalism: Strong reliability, punctuality, and willingness to follow salon operational guidelines. Maintain a tidy, professional personal appearance that reflects shop branding.
● Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, bend, and maintain manual dexterity for extended periods during busy trade shifts.
● Flexibility & Work Rights: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and peak trading periods.
● Must be an NZ Citizen, NZ resident, or eligible to work in NZ.

This is a full-time, permanent role, and the hourly pay rate ranges from NZ$25 to NZ$35, depending on experience and qualifications. Work hours range from a minimum of 35 to a maximum of 70 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 9 am and 5 pm, and Saturday between 9 am and 2 pm.
