Niko & Co Limited, trading as WuCha, is seeking a permanent full-time Store Manager for its store at Shop 15A, 19 Grant Road, Frankton, Queenstown.
Employment terms
• Permanent full-time employment
• $35.00 gross per hour
• A minimum of 32 paid hours per week, excluding unpaid meal breaks
• Up to 40 paid hours per week by agreement
• Four or five rostered shifts per week, on no more than five days
• Rostered Monday to Sunday, with shifts ordinarily falling between 11:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
Key responsibilities
• Lead the day-to-day operation of the store and maintain efficient customer service.
• Coordinate staffing, allocate duties, assist with or prepare rosters, and supervise employees.
• Train and support team members in beverage preparation, customer service, POS procedures, food safety, hygiene, opening and closing procedures, and workplace health and safety.
• Monitor staff performance and attendance and maintain appropriate records.
• Maintain product quality and ensure menu items are prepared according to WuCha procedures.
• Manage stock levels, ordering, deliveries, stock rotation, stocktakes, wastage controls and supplier matters within delegated authority.
• Oversee cash handling, daily reconciliation, refunds and POS controls.
• Monitor sales, labour and operating results and provide reports or recommendations to the Director.
• Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally.
• Ensure compliance with the Food Control Plan and applicable food-safety, hygiene and health and safety requirements.
• Oversee opening, closing, cleaning, security and equipment checks.
• Provide hands-on customer service and beverage preparation when operationally required.
Minimum requirements
Applicants must have at least one year’s experience as a café team leader, duty manager, supervisor or in a similar leadership role, and must also meet at least one of the following requirements:
• Hold a relevant NZQF Level 5 or higher qualification in business, retail, hospitality or management, or a comparable overseas qualification; or
• Have at least two years’ relevant experience in the café, hospitality or food and beverage industry.
Applicants must also have:
• Demonstrated experience supervising staff, managing stock and ordering, and overseeing cash or POS controls.
• Effective communication and team leadership skills.
• Ability to work the advertised roster, including weekends and public holidays when rostered.
• Ability to reliably attend the Frankton workplace for all rostered shifts.
• Willingness to provide relevant employment referees.
