Job descriptions:
- Set up and operate woodworking machinery to cut, shape, drill and process timber and wood-based materials.
- Operate and maintain CNC machines, panel saws, planers, spindle moulders and other joinery machinery.
- Read drawings, measurements and cutting lists to complete machining work to required specifications.
- Adjust machine settings, blades, cutters and tooling to suit different machining requirements.
- Inspect, clean and maintain machinery to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Carry out routine maintenance, lubrication and minor adjustments to machinery and equipment.
- Identify machine faults or abnormal operation and report or assist with necessary repairs.
- Check finished components to ensure correct measurements and required quality standards.
- Follow machinery operating procedures and workplace health and safety requirements.
Job pre-requisites:
- A relevant qualification equivalent to NZQF Level 4 or above, or at least 2 years experience in operating and maintaining industrial machinery or equipment.
- Experience with woodworking or CNC machinery would be an advantage.
- Practical experience in machinery inspection, adjustment, maintenance and basic fault finding.
- Ability to follow technical drawings, measurements and operating instructions.
