Chemical Plant Operator

We are seeking an experienced Chemical Plant Operator to join our team and support the safe and efficient delivery of chemical processing and cleaning activities across industrial projects.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with experience in chemical processing, chemical cleaning or industrial services who is committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality and operational efficiency.

Location

You will be required to work in Auckland, Northland, Bay of Plenty, Christchurch, Waikato, Taranaki, Wellington and Otago regions

Hours of Work

Our normal hours of operation are between 6am and 10pm, 7 days per week. This role is a 40 hours per week position.

What You'll Be Doing

• Operate and monitor chemical processing, dosing, circulation, transfer and cleaning systems.
• Safely prepare, handle, mix and dose chemicals and processing agents.
• Carry out plant start-ups, shutdowns, isolations, changeovers, decontamination and chemical cleaning activities.
• Inspect equipment, identify faults or abnormal conditions, and support troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Work closely with managers, engineers, maintenance teams and customers to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures, customer requirements and HSEQ standards.

Experience

• 2.5–5 years’ relevant experience in chemical plant operation, chemical processing, chemical cleaning in industrial services.
• Ability to interpret operating procedures, instrument readings, test results and process conditions.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, teamwork and commitment to safe, quality-focused work.

Pay conditions

Min $39.00 per hour to a maximum of $42.00 per hour.
