We are seeking a Site Manager to oversee our on-site operations.

We are a well-established and reputable bricklaying company based in Christchurch. We specialize in high-quality commercial bricklaying and retaining wall projects. We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Site Manager to oversee our on-site operations and ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards.

As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day site operations, managing costs, variations and resolving on-site issues
  • Develop weekly work plans and interpret specifications and architectural plans for the team
  • Manage material procurement and coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery
  • Direct, coordinate, and supervise teams to ensure all work is completed to a high standard
  • Conduct continuous quality inspections at all stages of construction
  •  Assist with formal council inspections to ensure compliance with standards
  • Enforce on-site Health & Safety regulations, and actively manage hazard identification
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organised site
  • Liaise effectively with suppliers, building inspectors, clients, and other key stakeholders
  • Provide regular progress updates to management and maintain complete site project files

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in project management or site management
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in construction management, project management, or similar is highly preferred
  • Strong ability to read and interpret complex architectural drawings and structural plans
  • Proven track record in commercial project delivery with excellent communication skills
  • Excellent leadership, time-management, and problem-solving abilities
  • A sharp eye for detail and a willingness to travel across New Zealand as needed for various projects

We offer a minimum of 40 hours per week, with an hourly rate of $35.00 to $45.00, based on experience.
