Maintenance Fitter
We're partnering with a well-established and highly regarded food processing business in Canterbury that is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join its team.

We welcome applications from experienced Maintenance Fitters, Mechanical Engineers, and Maintenance Technicians with backgrounds in manufacturing, food processing, or industrial environments.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in keeping operations running efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.

About the Role
Working as part of a close-knit maintenance team, you’ll be responsible for the ongoing reliability and performance of plant and equipment, ensuring production continues to run smoothly.

Key responsibilities:
  • Preventative and reactive maintenance across plant and equipment
  • Fault-finding and diagnostics on mechanical systems
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assisting with installation, upgrades, and commissioning of machinery
  • Welding stainless steel to food processing standards
  • Working collaboratively with production and maintenance teams
  • Providing budget estimates for projects when requested
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • A trade qualification (or working towards) in fitting/turning or mechanical engineering
  • Experience in manufacturing or food processing environments
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance and reliability-based maintenance
