Carpenter

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals already working in the construction industry who have good understanding of building work and practices and are eager to upskill and step into a Carpentry role.

Full-time role: 30–40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and construction plans.

• Measure, cut, assemble, and install components such as window frames, doors, flooring, and cabinetry. 

• Shape materials using hand and power tools; maintain these tools in good working condition.

• Build frameworks and roof structures, install sub-flooring and floorboards, and check structural accuracy.

• Fit fascia panels, roof sheathing, exterior cladding, and door and window frames.

• Put together pre-cut wood pieces to form structures and fixtures ready for installation

• Perform on-site inspections; remove and repair or replace damaged sections. 

• Ensure workspace safety and maintain cleanliness; wear appropriate PPE.

Qualifications & Skills:

• A relevant Level 4 qualification and 1–2 years of practical experience in carpentery/cabinate making or a related building trade.

• Strong physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks.

• Willingness to learn, upskill, and commit to continuous improvement.

• Proficient use of tools such as saws, drills, sanders, and levels.

• Excellent attention to detail, teamwork skills, and ability to work independently.

• Valid Class 1 driver’s license (essential for site travel).

• Ability to meet deadlines and work flexible hours when required.
• Open to travel as some of our work would require travel to Hamilton when there is work.
